The chalet is situated in Praz-de-Fort in the beautiful and peaceful Val Ferret, near the Grand St.Bernard valley and 22 Km south of Martigny.  1 hour 40 minutes from Geneva Airport. Nearest ski slopes and cross country ski trails in La Fouly, 8 minutes away by car. There is also a bus stop 500m from the chalet. There are wonderful hikes nearby.The village is situated on the 'Tour de Mont Blanc'.  There are thermal baths 30 minutes away in Lavey-les-bains and Saillon. In summer, an open air swimming pool is 15 minutes away in Champex-Lac and here in winter there are several kilometres of ski pistes. The chalet is 15 minutes away from Le Chable for the cable car to Verbier, where, in summer there are two 18 hole golf courses, mountain bike hire, parapente etc. and in winter world class ski slopes, but the rent is not at Verbier prices.
There are sites of cutural interest in Martigny and Sion.
The village of Praz-de-Fort is very small and quiet. There is a café where simple meals can be had. All the villages along the valley have an auberge where you can go for a drink or a simple meal. Otherwise there is a very good restaurant in Orsieres 6 Km away.  There are other restaurants in La Fouly. The closest supermarket is in Orsieres and there is also one in La Fouly.
