The Balearic Islands are a chain of islands located in the Mediterranean Sea off the east coast of mainland Spain. They consist of Majorca (Mallorca), Minorca (Menorca), Ibiza, Formentera and Cabrera, and form an autonomous region of Spain.
The islands are an extremely popular holiday destination, even more so with the advent of package holidays. High profile celebrities and even royalty flock to the islands which each have something different to offer depending on your taste and what kind of holiday you’re looking for. From peaceful and relaxing beaches in Minorca, to party island Ibiza there is something here to suit everyone.
The climate here is typical of the Mediterranean, with refreshing, cool sea breezes to complement the hot summers. Locals are friendly and helpful, the majority of them speaking English especially in the larger resorts. Because of the popularity of the islands, you should have no problem finding available flights, or alternatively you can get a ferry from mainland Spain.
