Portimao has great golf, shopping, walking and beaches to name but a few. Along the famous sandy beaches, take the time out to soak up the rays or jump on a jet ski. Move further inland to discover Portimao’s interior by foot or by bike, with a number of trails and tracks to follow.
The area of Portimao also includes Praia da Rocha, quite well known as a holiday resort; to the west of Portimao is Alvor which is a population destination and is particularly of interest to those avid watersports fans (for canoeing, windsurfing and kitesurfing).
Weather: The moderate winters and hot summers make Portimao a great year round destination.

Transport/Travelling
Flying into Faro airport, the drive down from here is just around an hour. You can either hire a car at the airport or use the train service, which is relatively straight forward. You can also use the local bus service or pay for a private transfer.
Currency & Medical Requirements
The currency in the whole of Portugal is the Euro and whilst there are no specific medical requirements, it is advised that you check with your GP that all vaccinations are up to date.
