Montauroux is set in the Fayence region of the upper Var and is one of the small villages perched on the side of a mountain. Fayence is at a slightly higher altitude in the cooler green hills of the Var than the warmer Mediterranean coastline with its glitzy towns such as Cannes and St Raphael.
Closeby Lake St Cassien is perfect for windsurfing and other watersports, the "Abbaye du Thoronet" a quiet place to visit and hear the monks evensong.

Grasse. 22 km. Fascinating historic town and world's perfume capital. Explore the delightful narrow streets or go on one of the factory tours offered by some of the most famous perfume houses.

Aqualand, Fréjus. 30 km. Waterpark. Fantastic waterpark with a great number of water rides for the whole family, including the largest wave pool in Europe and the huge Twin-Twister water slide. Not for the faint hearted!
