On the western coast of the Cotentin Peninsula, 60 km from Mont St Michel and 18 km north of the pretty resort of Granville which is built on a rocky spur. The Upper town boasts a rich architectural heritage consiting of many fine buildings including old picturesque homes and mansions from the 16th and 17th centuries and the Church of Notre Dame dating back to the 15th to 17th century. From "Pointe du Roc", you will enjoy some outstanding coastal views, including the Bay of Mont Saint Michel and the Chausey Islands. Also at Granville you can visit the house and garden of Christian Dior, the Aquarium at Pointe du Roc and the popular casino. Granville also offers many watersports activities and is the departure point for the ferries to Jersey and the Chausey Islands, ideal for a day trip.

Second most popular tourist attraction in France, it is a real delight to wander the narrow street with shops, hotels and restaurants leading to the abbey, or stroll in the gardens. Tatihou Island. 90 km. Just off the coast from the little port of Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue, an inhabited and fortified island with maritime museum. Also a paradise for nature lovers and in particular birdwatchers.
