Bavaria Holiday & Travel Guide: Bavaria is the largest state in Germany and is very much its own little country inside a country, so much so that the people of Bavaria refer to themselves firstly as Bavarian, and secondly German.
Influences here are very much more from Bavaria's bordering neighbours, Austria - here you will find beer drinking, sausage eating and lederhosen wearing to full effect amongst the locals!

The capital, Munich has lots for tourists seeking a colourful and active break. Whether seeing the sights is your thing or you want to visit during Oktoberfest, a world renowned festival - there is more than a enough to do here. Visit the Munich beer halls for a smoky beer or hit the shops for the latest designer wear.
Outside of Munich, there are a number of breaks in and out of other cities well worth visiting. Try the famous Romantic Road route which links together a number of picturesque cities, towns and villages. Perhaps you would prefer a winter break on the slopes of the Alps? Or perhaps hiking in the Bavarian countryside tickles your fancy? Whatever your pursuit, you can do it here.
