
Art Galleries in Dubai Guide: The art scene within Dubai and the United Arab Emirates is growing, with exhibitions being held to showcase artists based in Dubai, as well as elsewhere in the Middle East and international artists.
Bastakia: An area of Dubai on the Bur Dubai side of the Creek that dates from the 1890s with narrow and winding lanes and tall wind-towers giving a charming view of ‘old Dubai’. The city was famous for the mass of wind towers located along the Creek and now also offers the:
- Majlis gallery – has a pleasant courtyard to enjoy refreshments in after viewing the art
- The XVA contemporary art gallery – also holds movie nights in its courtyard from November to March
- The Eye Art Gallery – a quaint gallery displaying avant-garde from resident artists from Dubai and Iran
- The Ostra Art Gallery – a small gallery displaying Arabic paintings and calligraphy
- The Basta Art Café – located in a restored building with a large outdoor area for refreshments
which are all within walking distance of each other.
Al Quoz Industrial Area – you can visit the:
- B21 Gallery – a progressive art gallery
- The Courtyard – located in a unique glass and steel building where exhibitions are updated and held regularly but the main attraction has to be the Courtyard which is surrounded with outlets designed in different building styles from around the world
- Meem Gallery –promotes the work of modern and contemporary Middle Eastern artists
- The Third Line – an art gallery located in a warehouse
Al Abbar Art Gallery Dubai:
